ART EXPO

In the foyer of the Casa della Cultura we’ll have the art exhibition, curated this year by Simone “Stritti” Micozzi from a selection of the Italian Hip Hop Museum’s repertoire, there is also going to be a prestoigious selection of Street Art by Chroma curated by Daphnée Thibaud.

ITALIAN HIP HOP MUSEUM

This year the museum section of the festival will be curated by Stritti who will exhibit an extract from the Hip Hop Italian Museum. Project born from an idea of ​​Ahki Stritti and his mania for collecting various types of objects from Italian and non-Italian Hip Hop culture, after 40 years, exactly on July 1st 2023, during the Foundation Jam he managed to inaugurate the first exhibition of the ‘Hip Hop Italian Museum dedicated to the history of Italian Hip Hop which took place in Camerano, the second exhibition was held in Bassano del Grappa during the 50TH Anniversary of the Universal Zulu Nation.

All this was possible by collecting many flyers, posters, books, t-shirts, DVDs, cassettes, mixtapes and many other objects that can now be shown to the public, all always with the intention of allowing the new generations to take a leap in the past, a leap that makes him understand what really happened by putting in black and white the true history of Italian Hip Hop of what happened, giving credit to Pioneers and Hiphoppers less mentioned in recent years.

Soon there will be a physical location where you can go and visit the museum, this location will be located in the Marche region. In addition to Stritti’s personal collection, there are objects donated by other members or crews of the scene, the museum is always ready to accept donations of historical material.

CHROMA

CHROMA is the meeting of three creatives eager to build a bridge between their practices, capable of nourishing and giving voice to their projects: Daphnée Thibaud (gallery owner, curator and French teacher), Stefano Patti (actor, director and acting teacher ) and Amandine Ravasi (museum operator and French teacher).

And so CHROMA was born, an innovative and dynamic multifunctional space, in the heart of Mandrione, one of the most characteristic streets of Rome, where you can breathe art and history at every corner.

This new reality is defined as a place for networking, meeting and exchange between creatives and art enthusiasts, trying to promote emerging and internationally renowned artists and giving space to innovation, to the search for alternative and hybrid forms.

In addition to the various cultural proposals including exhibitions, performances, concerts, talks, screenings and much more, Chroma offers the possibility of coming into contact with professionals from different artistic sectors through the organization of courses and workshops, promoting experimentation and the circulation of ideas.

HOGRE

Hogre is a Roman street artist, who grew up on the streets following the footsteps of graffiti artists such as JBrock, Zibe, Pible. The street artist’s works are characterized as Subvertising interventions which consists in the creative vandalization of advertising spaces.

With his works, Hogre wants to create disturbance, criticize the use of commercial images and open up debate regarding the massive use of advertising and the management of public space. His notoriety has long crossed national borders thanks to a passionate creative commitment that has led him to specialize more and more, both in graphics and in interventions in spaces. His first urban actions signed HOGRE date back to 2007, subsequently the fly logo also appeared to represent his works: an annoying insect, which has become the symbol of his art, describing the effect it causes in society.

JBROCK

JBROCK is a contemporary Italian artist born in Rome, the city where he lives and works. He is among the most active street artists on the Roman scene, a mission he has carried out since he was very young.

He is an important name in the underground graffiti scene in the capital and actively participated in the start of an era of stencil, sticker and poster art in Italy. Far from trends or militant action, JB is an artist who does not belong to any type of movement but has his own path and style and his own evolution nourished by an imagination rich in influences from music, literature and expressionist art

The ‘fatty’ is his continually evolving iconic character which best represents his search for fluidity and image quality.

IBOMBROME

Ibombrome are two miniaturist artists who actively participate in HipHop art through their dioramas that reproduce walls covered with tags, stickers and posters.

Lovers and enthusiasts of writing, Ibombrome have an incredible sense of detail and through their art they best and creatively represent this urban fabric of the underground city. They find their material in the streets of the capital or in the waste from construction sites and then imagine, reconstruct and carve out a piece of street that breathes and reflects their style and the expression of their own creativity.

 

LUCAMALEONTE

Lucamaleonte is an artist who lives and works in Rome. Over the years he has become an important name in street art by creating stencils on the walls of Rome, then dedicating himself to increasingly elaborate works painted on canvas. He has participated in several exhibitions in Italian galleries and abroad.

Lucamaleonte is also an artist passionate about botany and bestiaries, themes that we find in his works and which have allowed him to develop another passion, that of different chalcographic techniques. His work and his style arise from a careful study of the history of art and from a talent that he himself compares to a seed that must be watered and enriched every day. The naturalness and beauty of his works reside in particular in love, humility and study.

MERIOONE

Merioone is an artist who actively participates in the world of street art. In New York in 2015, he created the “Fish Invasion” project, a real “fish invasion” around the world through sticker art and poster art . This project and these fishes that have become iconic and the artist loves to consider as his children, are the first result of a long observation of our world and our society. The artist loves to travel and wants to convey in his stickers the sense of travel and the enrichment and opening that it can bring us. However, he maintains a very strong bond with Rome and its streets where you can always find him!

NAPAL

Napal – Urban artist and illustrator, historical figure of the Italian writing and street art movement, began his artistic journey as a writer already in 1986 in Australia and then, in 1988 he moved to Italy where he pioneered the language of urban art in the capital .

He gives his artistic contribution to the advertising campaigns of brands such as Nike, Puma, Footlocker, RedBull and others. Participates in major exhibitions, such as the Venice Biennale. His works are preserved in private collections and museums such as the Monte dei Paschi di Siena and the Musem of Contemporary Art in Marseille. He currently resides in Rome where he lives and works. For Napal, art is an internal need and constant research, a meticulous diary of the evolution of one’s self. For more than thirty years he has pursued a personal discourse, believing in the centrality of his own work, painting without ever formally appearing in public, remaining secluded, effectively underground.

SAKOASKO

Colombian artist, I disseminate my work under the pseudonym “SakoAsko”. In my work I am concerned with both the technique and the conceptual part, trying to maintain a balance between these two factors. I have always had an affinity with the human inner world, I am interested in knowing what drives people to make decisions or procrastinate, which is why I am so passionate about creating images, because through drawing I can make visible the inner universes that are hidden from the human eye.

TUTTANEURO

TuttaNeuro was born in Palermo in 1975 where he studied and worked in the field of art until 2008 when he moved to Rome. His main means of expression is painting which subsequently moves to digital printing and street art. Develops a personal style that seeks the whole, the aggregation, a general and total form composed of many other clear and defined ones, generating an aesthetic – formal language bearer of concepts and visions linked to the sacred – profane depths of the state of the human being .
